This weekend coming the
BBC is hosting a big event themed around World War One at Home. We are looking
for some more volunteers to help on the day and I wondered if it might be
possible to send information to your members to see if they may like to help?
I know it is really last
minute (so sorry!), it should be a great fun day, and really interesting for
anyone interested in community events and history.
The BBC is taking a
project all about World War 1 on tour. The theme is around World War One at
Home, so what was happening on the home front, during the war. It has already
been on a few dates throughout the East and across the country, and the events
have been really well received, with volunteers getting a lot out of the day.
The event is on site of
the Colchester Military Tournament on the 5th and 6th
July. Any enthusiastic and friendly volunteers who can help for the day
on the Saturday and/or Sunday would be so welcome. It will be a long day
(8.30am to 6pm), but the time will fly by, and the BBC will provide food,
drinks and reimburse travel expenses.
If anyone is interested,
all they need to do is make contact with me, and I will send them the
appropriate form to complete and send to the local BBC team managing the event.
Is there any way you can
promote this event to your members? If so, please do get the message out on our
behalf. We are so grateful.
If you would like to
talk about this further please just call or email.
Thanks so much, best
wishes,
Laura
