The Augustinian Priory Church of Little Dunmow: Transactions n.s. Volume 13 Part 4

One hundred years ago, on 1 January 1914, the Morant Club began excavation work in the churchyard of Little Dunmow Church in an attempt to find the extent of the Priory church building.  Their report appeared in the Transactions of the Essex Society for Archaeology and History, then called the Essex Archaeological Society.

This is a highly illustrated piece. In the archives is an invoice for the cost of producing the coloured plan: 500 copies cost £5.0s.0d. in 1914.

Thank you for uploading this important historical document. Of much use for our 800th Anniversary celebrations in Little Dunmow planned for 2015; commemorating Little Dunmow's links to Robert Fitzwalter and the Barons Revolt leading to the sealing of Magna Carta in 1215.
