Historical Association Talk. 28 October 2017

Historical Association Essex Branch

 Prostitution in 19th- century Colchester

A talk by Dr Jane Pearson

‘Researching Colchester's nineteenth-century prostitution story arose directly from teaching local history modules at the University of Essex on social welfare topics. The story reveals something of the development of the town as it welcomed and then responded to the arrival of the army garrison in 1856.’
Dr. Jane Pearson is a part-time teacher at the History Dept., University of Essex.

On Saturday 28th October at 2.30pm

All our talks are held at Trinity Methodist Church Rainsford Road, Chelmsford, CM1 2XB
